Cathedral full for prayer event for Thy Kingdom Come

Posted: 5th June, 2017

A service gathering together prayers collected from all over Devon has been held in Exeter Cathedral, attended by hundreds of people.

The event was the culmination of eleven days of prayer, as part of the initiative launched by the Archbishops’, Thy Kingdom Come. Churches have opened up prayer stations on the streets, inviting people to pray and share their concerns, and school pupils wrote hundreds of prayers, all of which were brought up to the Cathedral for the service and placed on a large map of the county.

Prayer boxes full of prayers and symbols were placed on a map of the county.

Bishop Sarah spoke at the service, and prayer stations were set up all over the Cathedral, organised by groups including Christian Aid, the YMCA and South West Youth Ministries.
