The Archbishop of Melanesia, the Most Revd George Takeli, has come to Devon to call for help to tackle the crisis unfolding in the Solomon Islands caused by climate change. TWELVE people,  six adults and six children, were confirmed by Bishop Sarah at a special deanery service at the church of St Philip and St James in Escot, near Ottery St Mary. Archbishop of Melanesia George Takeli was present for the event, as he is on a visit to the UK. The 71st Dean of Exeter Cathedral is to be the Very Reverend Jonathan Greener, currently the Dean of Wakefield Cathedral in the Diocese of Leeds, Downing Street has announced today. Jonathan will take up his new role at the end of November, on the Sunday before Advent. He succeeds the Very Rev Jonathan Draper, who resigned at the end of August. Over 250 clergy  from across our diocese spent four days at the ‘Alive to God’ clergy conference held at the Royal Agricultural College in Cirencester. A partner at an Exeter law firm has become the first female Diocesan Registrar for the Diocese of Exeter.
