Get ready to UPLOAD!
Upload is a free festival for young people aged 13-18 in Devon, which is taking over Exeter Cathedral on 12 May. The Cathedral will play host live music and entertainment as well as different zones to relax, create and debate.
The event is supported by local churches and youth organisations that exist to help young people explore faith in ways that are relevant to them.
The first Upload festival two years ago attracted 1500 young people.
James Grier, organiser of Upload, said: “For most young people church is not only irrelevant but not even on their radar. They haven’t consciously decided against faith or church, they’ve just never really thought about it. They may have learned some stuff at school but it’s as relevant as Shakespeare or algebra to their everyday life. On 12th May, we’re giving over Exeter Cathedral to the youth of the region for an event called Upload. We’ve did it in 2016 and were delighted to welcome 1500 young people along. Many of them had never been before and had no interest in faith. Upload isn’t so much about a night at the Cathedral as the lead up and legacy associated with it. Please use it as a way to connect with youth and invite them to something you can trust that they’ll really enjoy. Then afterwards use it as a springboard to get them talking about and exploring faith.
“We’d love your help. Please pray for it. Please support it financially. Please volunteer to help on the night. Please bring some young people along!”
Upload is 7-10pm on 12th May and for 13-18 year olds. Find out more at the Upload website.
