Hundreds get messy in the Cathedral
Hundreds of people from Messy Church groups around our diocese gathered together in Exeter Cathedral for a celebration of Pentecost last Saturday.
Adults and children together enjoyed hearing stories, playing games, taking part in activities and having lots of fun.
Diocesan Children’s Work Adviser Katherine Lyddon said: “It was amazing to see all ages excitedly exploring Pentecost, the birthday of the church, including sharing the birthday cake.
“I was really encouraged to see our diocese taking this form of Church seriously and celebrating all that God is doing through it.
“By holding it in the Cathedral it gave people who had never been in the opportunity to experience worship on a grand scale – inspiring a sense of awe and wonder.
“I am grateful to the Messy Churches that ran activities so successfully and the friendly and engaging atmosphere that they created.”
