Communicating your message

Does your parish have a communications strategy? When did your PCC last discuss communications, including your parish magazine and website? After all, communications is at the heart of Jesus' great commission to 'Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations' (Matthew 28, v19).

It is often useful to run a communications audit of your parish as a starting point. Look at everything from your parish noticeboard, your pewsheet, to your magazine and website and church near you entry, and think about the messages these publications are sending out to regular members of your congregation and visitors.

The Communications Unit at the Old Deanery can advise on communications issues. It is also there to support parishes and clergy during times of media interest. For non-urgent enquiries email the Communications office at the Old Deanery.
