Pastoral Support

We offer a range of courses designed to help with pastoral care in local churches and Mission Communities:

Acorn Calling Events

Opportunity to become a voluntary trainer with Acorn Christian Healing Foundation

Acorn, as an established ministry training provider, delivers a range of training events across the Diocese of Exeter in Reconciliation, Healing and Listening.

You can find out more from the Acorn Training Prospectus or via the website:

To book a course for your church or community group please email Jo Walker, Events Coordinator.

Acorn are keen to recruit new voluntary trainers and are looking for people who share their values and vision and who have skills and experience in teaching, training and/or presenting. These could have been gained in a church or work context and you do not need to have previous experience of Acorn courses.

Over three days you will have the opportunity to learn more about Acorn and discover if you feel called to this training ministry.

The next Acorn Calling Event in the South West will be held at Whitehill Chase, Bordon, Hampshire on Saturdays 17 September, 1 October and 12 November. The event is free and travel expenses will be reimbursed.

For further details and a booking form contact Jo Walker (Acorn Events Coordinator).

Deliverance Ministry

Healing and deliverance ministries are at the heart of the Gospel as Jesus proclaims and reveals the fullness of life in his Kingdom; ministries which the Church has continued through the ages. Many churches have services for laying on of hands and anointing. Deliverance ministry is offered to those troubled in mind or spirit by feelings of unease in particular buildings, paranormal activity or concerns that they themselves are under evil influences. This is carried out by a team of clergy across the diocese who are trained and experienced in this kind of ministry. They meet together for mutual encouragement and learning and are convened and deployed when requested. In all circumstances, this pastoral ministry is shared with the relevant parish priest, and the team has access to medical advice and support when necessary. Contact Nick on 01822 854653.
