Celebrating Christmas in our Rural Churches
We’ve had an exciting and inspiring first year. As we have got to know rural Mission Communities, we have seen how the people of our rural churches are often those with their finger on the pulse of their community. They are there when a lift to hospital is needed, when the cakes need baking or the grass cutting, to welcome people in to Messy Church, and when an offer of prayer makes all the difference.
As Christmas approaches, we will be celebrating what our wonderful rural churches are up to by making a video we can share across our diocese. Please see video and further details below.
But – we need your help! Using a smart phone, we’d love your rural church, youth group, Messy Church, local school or community to make a maximum 20 second video telling us how you are celebrating and sharing the good news of Christmas in 2017. Deadline for submitting videos is Monday 4 December.
For every video we receive, we will donate £1 to the Farming Community Network and as many of your clips as possible will be included in our final video.
By sending us your video, you are confirming that those appearing in it (or their guardians) have given their permission to appear on our webpages and social media accounts.
For any children and young people aged 16 or under, you must gain written parental permission. Download our form here: Photo-Video consent form.
How to Send Us Your Video
All films should be:
- 20 seconds or under
- Filmed in landscape as this improves the dimensions when it comes to editing.
Once you are happy with your video, please share it with us for free by either:
- creating a Dropbox account (https://www.dropbox.com/login), uploading your video and sharing it with us at Growing the Rural Church;
- sharing it with us via ‘we transfer’ (https://wetransfer.com) using the same email address Growing the Rural Church.
If you are having any trouble sending your video to us, please contact Flora Searson at Growing the Rural Church.
