Priest in Charge: Parishes of St Boniface & St Philip

Closing date for applications: 20th July 2017

Interview date: 3rd August 2017

The parishes of St Boniface and St Philip are on the East bank of the River Tamar in a mainly residential area of Plymouth, which also includes the Devonport Dockyard naval base.  The parishes consist of two modern, church buildings with small but active congregations and excellent potential for growth and engagement with their communities.

The Bishop is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic priest.

He/she will:

  • Be able to engage across generations and social divides.
  • Inspire, equip and empower the laity to make the love of Christ known in the community.
  • Be a good team leader who can develop the two parishes into an effective Mission Community.
  • Be skilled at preaching, teaching and communicating and enable the congregations to deepen their discipleship and understanding of the Christian faith.

A large detached vicarage is provided with stunning views across the River Tamar.

Post subject to clear enhanced DBS.
