Plymstock & Hooe is a large, mainly-residential parish on the south eastern outskirts of Plymouth, the “Ocean City” between Dartmoor and the sea. The benefice consists of a Team Parish, with four worship centres: St Mary & All Saints, Good Shepherd, Holy Family and St John’s.
The Bishop and Patrons are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic parish priest, to work together with our team vicars. He/she will:
- Lead, inspire and empower imaginative lay involvement in worship and other areas of church life currently reflecting the historical diversity of four separate churches each familiar with the Eucharist liturgy
- Work with families, children and young people and nurture existing community links with schools, residential/care homes and St Luke’s Hospice within our boundaries
- Be skilled at preaching, teaching and communicating and will build good relationships and exercise sensitive and practical pastoral care
- Enable the laity to contribute to ecumenical initiatives in new housing developments within our parish boundaries
A modern four-bedroom vicarage is provided.
Post subject to clear enhanced DBS.
