White Christmas a guarantee this year in one Devon church

Posted: 21st December, 2017

A FESTIVE flurry from the pulpit will guarantee at least the worshippers in one Devon church a white Christmas this year.

Rev Nick Debney will fire out his snow machine from the pulpit of St Luke’s Milber, Newton Abbot over children and adults alike at services on Christmas Eve.

“We are called as Christians to be joyful, especially at Christmas and seeing children dancing around in the snow can’t fail to bring a smile to everyone’s face,” he said.

The idea for the snow machine came from a neighbouring vicar, Will Hazlewood in Dartmouth, who had been chaplain to Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire and was given a snow machine by his former parish when he left.

Father Nick will fire out the snow machine at his crib service at 4pm on Christmas Eve, the 11.30 Midnight Mass and the 10am Christmas Day services.
