1. On this first day of the ‘Season of Creation,’ dedicated to God as Creator and Sustainer of all life, we pray: God said, ‘Let there be light.’ Eternal God, we thank you for your light and your truth. We praise you for your fatherly care in creating a universe which proclaims your glory. Inspire us to worship you, the creator of all, and let your light shine upon our world.
2. For the Braunton Mission Community, their priest Anne Thorne, Reader David Rushworth and for all who live and worship in Braunton.   
3. For the Brixham Mission Community, their clergy Ian Blyde, John Gay, Angela Sumner, Readers Susan Shaw, Wendy Emlyn and for all who live and worship in Lower Brixham, All Saints, Kingswear, Churston Ferrers and Brixham St Mary.
4. Pray for all our clergy, senior staff and all those attending the clergy conference in Cirencester until 7th: that it may be a time of learning together, reflection and fun so that all those involved come back inspired and renewed to serve their communities.
5. Pray for all those attending Safeguarding training today in Torquay and on 7th in Exeter, 14th in Barnstaple, 26th & 27th in Plymouth and 28th in Barnstaple.
6. In our link with Melanesia we are asked to pray for the Archbishop of Melanesia, George Takeli as he attends the clergy conference. On 20th remember Bishop John Coleridge Patteson, martyred in Melanesia and from this Diocese, and on 23rd pray for the Melanesian Mission AGM and Festival day. 
7. For the Central Exeter Mission Community, their priest Sheila Swarbrick and for all who live and worship in Central Exeter.
8. For the Chudleigh Mission Community, their clergy Paul Wimsett, Martin Fletcher, Readers Arnold Cade, Sheila Fletcher, Helen Harding and for all who live and worship in Trusham, Chudleigh Knighton and Chudleigh. 
9. In our link with Thika pray for the Bishop Julius Wanyoike and his secretary James Kamura. Give thanks for the work of the Mothers’ Union – the powerhouse of the Church – and pray for Esther Wanyoike the president and Cecilia Mwaniki the co-ordinator.

This week give thanks to God for his wonderful provision and celebrate harvest-time by enjoying a meal made with home-grown or local ingredients. ‘Taste and see that the Lord is good’ (Psalm 34:8)

10. Pray for our 14 deacons being ordained today at Exeter Cathedral by Bishop Robert.
11. In our link with the Diocese of Bayeux-Lisieux in France we are asked to pray for the Basilica at Lisieux, its staff and pilgrims, for all its work in promoting St Therese and for the parishes, clergy and people in the area of Lisieux.
12. For the Churches 4 All Mission Community, their clergy Chris Martin, Marc Kerslake and for all who live and worship in Whimple, Talaton, Clyst St Lawrence and Clyst Hydon.
13. Pray for all our hospital chaplains and in particular for Penny Hamilton at Bideford and Great Torrington Hospitals.
14. On Holy Cross day we pray: Fill with your Spirit Christ’s broken body, the Church. Give to Christian people everywhere a deep longing to take up the cross and to understand its mysterious glory. By the Saviour’s cross and passion. Amen
15. For the Clyst Mission Community, their clergy Mike Partridge, Bernard Lane, Reader Sandra Parker, and for all who live and worship in Sowton, Rockbeare, Pinhoe, Clyst Honiton and Broadclyst.
16. Pray for our Education chaplains and teams: especially those working in South Dartmoor College.

Pray that in our 24/7 society we may remember that all life needs rest and the opportunity to simply ‘be’.
17. In this week of prayer focussing on Palestine and Israel, as 100 years of the Balfour Declaration is marked, pray for a just and sustainable peace for all.
18. For the Coast & Combe Mission Community, their clergy John Roles, Michael Rogers, Giles King-Smith, Murray Aldridge-Collins, Reader Sally-Ann Molligoda and for all who live and worship in Woolacombe, Mortehoe, Lee, Ilfracombe St Philip and St James, Ilfracombe, Combe Martin, Bittadon and Berrynarbor.
19. In our link with the Diocese of Cyprus and the Gulf pray for the parishes, clergy and people of Dubai. Thank God for Holy Trinity Church where Christian services of all denominations take place.
20. For the Crediton Mission Community, their clergy Nigel Guthrie, Paul Fillery, Helen Drever, Reader Carol Price and for all who live and worship in Shobrooke, Sandford with Upton Hellions and Crediton.

Pray that we may live in ways that acknowledge our connectedness to the web of creation and the importance of promoting a more just, compassionate and peaceful world. 

24. Hold in prayer the Barnstaple Deanery especially Rural Dean Giles King-Smith, Lay Chair Marguerite Shapland and Treasurer Paul Cooper.
25. For the Cullompton Mission Community, their priest Edward Hobbs, deacon Russ Morgan, Readers Simon Friend, Celia Fox, Katharyn Mumby and for all who live and worship in Cullompton.

On the feast of St Michael and All Angels we pray: Everlasting God, you have ordained and constituted the ministries of angels and mortals in a wonderful order: grant that as your holy angels always serve you in heaven, so, at your command, they may help and defend us on earth; through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord, who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever.
