On this first day of the ‘Season of Creation,’ dedicated to God as Creator and Sustainer of all life, we pray: God said, ‘Let there be light.’ Eternal God, we thank you for your light and your truth. We praise you for your fatherly care in creating a universe which proclaims your glory. Inspire us to worship you, the creator of all, and let your light shine upon our world. 2. For the Braunton Mission Community, their priest Anne Thorne, Reader David Rushworth and for all who live and worship in Braunton. 3. For the Brixham Mission Community, their clergy Ian Blyde, John Gay, Angela Sumner, Readers Susan Shaw, Wendy Emlyn and for all who live and worship in Lower Brixham, All Saints, Kingswear, Churston Ferrers and Brixham St Mary. 4. Pray for all our clergy, senior staff and all those attending the clergy conference in Cirencester until 7th: that it may be a time of learning together, reflection and fun so that all those involved come back inspired and renewed to serve their communities. 5. Pray for all those attending Safeguarding training today in Torquay and on 7th in Exeter, 14th in Barnstaple, 26th & 27th in Plymouth and 28th in Barnstaple. 6. In our link with Melanesia we are asked to pray for the Archbishop of Melanesia, George Takeli as he attends the clergy conference. On 20th remember Bishop John Coleridge Patteson, martyred in Melanesia and from this Diocese, and on 23rd pray for the Melanesian Mission AGM and Festival day. 7. For the Central Exeter Mission Community, their priest Sheila Swarbrick and for all who live and worship in Central Exeter. 8. Pray for our 14 deacons being ordained today at Exeter Cathedral by Bishop Robert. 11. In our link with the Diocese of Bayeux-Lisieux in France we are asked to pray for the Basilica at Lisieux, its staff and pilgrims, for all its work in promoting St Therese and for the parishes, clergy and people in the area of Lisieux. 12. For the Churches 4 All Mission Community, their clergy Chris Martin, Marc Kerslake and for all who live and worship in Whimple, Talaton, Clyst St Lawrence and Clyst Hydon. 13. Pray for all our hospital chaplains and in particular for Penny Hamilton at Bideford and Great Torrington Hospitals. 14. On Holy Cross day we pray: Fill with your Spirit Christ’s broken body, the Church. Give to Christian people everywhere a deep longing to take up the cross and to understand its mysterious glory. In this week of prayer focussing on Palestine and Israel, as 100 years of the Balfour Declaration is marked, pray for a just and sustainable peace for all. 18.
