Come and Pray: 2 December 2023
Bishop Jackie is inviting people across Devon to take part in a Diocesan day of prayer, Come and Pray, on Saturday 2 December.
The Acting Bishop of Exeter says she wants to make prayer a priority for the next 12 months.
Come and Pray will include a day-long prayer and worship event at Exeter Cathedral, from 11am-4pm on Saturday 2 December.
This event is not ticketed and we would love to see as many church and school groups, families and individuals attending as possible.
There will be worship led by Bishop Jackie and Bishop James, as well as the chance to experience different forms of prayer, visit prayer stations around the Cathedral and be prayed for. There will also be creative prayer activities for families and children, and music led by singer songwriter Andy Flannagan and the Exe Valley Community Choir.
We are hoping Church of England schools will contribute prayers written by pupils beforehand.

The main worship will be livestreamed to allow people to join in online. In addition there will be an online prayer room and prayers and liturgy published so people can take part in the day wherever they are.
Bishop Jackie has chosen Philippians 4:6 as the verse for the day:
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.”
