Queen’s Green Canopy: Plant a Tree for the Jubilee

The Queen’s Green Canopy (QGC) is a tree planting initiative created to mark Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee in 2022. It invites people from across the United Kingdom to “Plant a Tree for the Jubilee”.

Everyone from individuals to Scout and Girl guiding groups, villages, cities, counties, schools and churches is being encouraged to play their part to enhance the environment by planting trees.

The Diocese of Exeter is encouraging every church to consider planting a tree in its churchyard in 2022. Find out more.

Bible Society Platinum Jubilee Competition for Primary School Children
To celebrate 70 years of service of Her Majesty the Queen, Open the Book would like to invite you to take part in a Platinum Jubilee competition. Any primary age schoolchild can take part. You may use any Bible verse or story that talks about the importance of service as your inspiration. Send in your best drawing, poem, comic or short story of no more than 500 words. Submit entries by 5pm on 29 April by emailing attachments to competition@openthebook.net
Please include the name of the school, adult contact name and a phone number, and confirm that parental permission has been given.
