Diocesan Synod approves Domestic Abuse policy

Many people in our communities have or are experiencing domestic abuse. Research shows that abuse amongst those involved with the church is as prevalent as other parts of our communities and sadly, there is evidence of churches failing to respond well to victims and survivors. Devon vicar to be new Archdeacon of Gloucester

An “outstanding vicar” from the Diocese of Exeter has been appointed as the next Archdeacon of Gloucester. The Revd Preb Hilary Dawson, Rector of Holyford Mission Community based in Colyford, is to take up the role made vacant when the former archdeacon, Jackie Searle, was made Bishop of Crediton. Please pray for our new Readers who were licensed by Bishop Robert to work across the Diocese of Exeter at Exeter Cathedral on Saturday. Bishop Robert licensed six new Readers who have completed their training in the diocese and five Readers who have transferred their licences. Thy Kingdom Come prayer movement begins next week
THE global Thy Kingdom Come prayer movement begins next week and there will be launch events in Devon with Bishop Robert and Bishop Nick. Bishop Robert will be in Sidmouth to listen to people and pray with them on Tuesday and Bishop Nick will be visiting Costa in Plymstock to offer prayers for people he meets, before visiting Plymstock school.
