Chancellor of the Diocese

Once advice has been obtained on a proposal from the Diocesan Advisory Committee (DAC), any faculty application is then determined by the Chancellor of the Diocese, Sir Andrew McFarlane, or his Deputy, Catherine Gibaud KC. Very occasionally, where a case is contested, the Chancellor will produce a ‘Judgement’ setting out the case, and his decision.
