An insight on the link between Worship and justice
‘There is no true worship without community. There is no true community without embracing the poor and creating a safe space for the abused, marginalised and oppressed to find sanctuary and Kingdom justice.
The worshipping community cannot – and must not – divorce itself from identifying with the poor. The broken and marginalised have a central place in the identity of the Church. They must not be just some distant programme to which we donate money. Expressing our faith to the society around us without the poor and oppressed at the core of that expression is to present something skewed and twisted. Just as there is no sweet fragrance for God to enjoy without justice, the Christianity we model to the world has no sweetness and our representation of the Kingdom falls short if we fail to remember the poor.’
