There are 133 schools and academies in the Diocese of Exeter, most of which are primary schools but we also have some secondary schools. These schools nurture and educate 28,500 children and places at them are frequently sought after by parents. We are proud of all our church schools, of their values and the high standard of education they offer, and of their links with the community.
The Exeter Board of Education believes our schools are at the heart of the mission and ministry of the Church of England in Devon. The Board is chaired by the Archdeacon of Totnes, the Venerable Douglas Dettmer.
The Diocesan Education Team works in partnership with three Local Authorities, offering a support service complementary to those offered by the local authorities. Each school has its own schools adviser, who works to support the school, its pupils and staff, and nurture its Christian ethos.
Please visit our Find a School page for a list of all our schools, including location and contact information.
This section of the website provides resources and information for governors and teachers in our church schools.
Valuing All God’s Children
