Understanding Christianity
The Understanding Christianity resource for Religious Education forms the central content and approach for teaching about Christianity in the RE syllabus for schools in the Diocese of Exeter. It also provides an ideal way to meet the expectations for RE set out in the SIAMS evaluation schedule.
This resource will enable pupils to leave school with a coherent understanding of Christian belief and practice. The Understanding Christianity approach gives pupils from 4-14 years the opportunity to explore the significant theological concepts within Christianity as part of developing their wider religious, theological and cultural literacy. A significant aspect of this resource aims to provide support for teachers in developing their own knowledge and understanding of Christian theology, enabling them to teach these topics with confidence.
