Kids and Youth Pastor at St Basil’s

We’re a team of pastors, farmers and makers working together for the renewal of the region and we’re looking for someone to join us as our Kids and Youth Pastor.
We are looking for an exceptional candidate to join our team 3 days a week as our new Kids and Youth Pastor.
This is a senior leadership role within the life of our church and, we believe, an exciting and unique opportunity. As this advert goes out we are three weeks in to gathering publicly as a church and we already have over 40 children and young people between the ages of 0 and 16 coming along regularly and so this is a growing, dynamic opportunity for the right person.
The role is extremely varied: we’re looking for someone who is endlessly motivated to see young peoples’ lives changed by Jesus; someone who is highly adaptable and adventurous (we meet on a farm after all!); someone who pays attention to detail and is highly organised; and someone with a pastors heart and an entrepreneur’s imagination.
The vision for kids and youth at St Basil’s is to make life-long friends, create memories and encounter Jesus in the wild outdoors of Devon. We are committed to reimagining ministry to young people for the challenges of this cultural moment and almost all of our gathered activities take place outside – no matter the weather – believing the land here is an amazing discipleship tool in itself.
For us, Sunday gatherings are only a part of what ministry to young people looks like and we are in the process of establishing mentoring schemes, midweek activities and a social enterprise that will practically draw the young people of our church into our vision to see the region renewed. The successful candidate will be leading on all these initiatives and not just running groups on a Sunday.
