Clergy
Priest-in-Charge Dunkeswell Mission Community
Closing date for applications: 20th February 2023
Interview date: Thursday 16th March 2023 (Orientation Date: Wednesday 15th March 2023)
We are praying for the Holy Spirit to lead the right person to us. This is a crucial time for us as we deepen our commitment to work together as a rural Mission Community, thus enabling our Churches and communities to flourish and grow. We are looking for a gifted practitioner, who will help us take our next steps as we move forward and embrace all that lies ahead.
We long for an experienced and collaborative leader, to work alongside our Associate Priest, Administrator, committed PCCs and Churchwardens, who will:
- Prayerfully support us in creating places of welcome, worship, hospitality and care,
- Lead us in reaching out to our communities to help us to become a part of the heartbeat of the community,
- Be a visible presence in the community,
- Be a wise teacher, an encourager of others and attentive to the voice of those outside the church,
- Be an effective communicator using technology alongside more traditional approaches so that all generations are embraced and feel connected to their church,
- Challenge us to be different, so we can hold on to tradition but embrace new ways of being Church,
- Have experience with multi-parish benefices to help us grow more closely together as a Mission Community,
- Love the countryside, embrace rural ministry and village life with all its joy (and some of its eccentricities!),
- Ultimately, help our rural Mission Community to work together to enable our churches and communities to flourish as we pray, grow and serve the people of East Devon with joy.
