The Enthronement of the 72nd Bishop of Exeter

We are delighted to announce that the Enthronement Service for our new Bishop of Exeter, the Rt. Rev’d Dr Mike Harrison, will be on Saturday 2 November at 3pm at Exeter Cathedral.

Following traditions stretching back hundreds of years, the service will feature contributions from local schools and community groups. It will include processions, a variety of music and an official welcome, as well as the anointing and enthronement of Bishop Mike. The service will be followed by a drinks reception.

Bishop Mike says: “I’m delighted to be called to this role and to have a date for the installation and can’t wait to get started as the next Bishop of Exeter; I’m very much looking forward to joining the people of the Diocese of Exeter in worship, witness and service.”

There are a limited number of free public tickets for the Enthronement Service. Please click here to book a ticket.

We are also hoping to livestream the service so you can watch it at home or hold a watch party in your church. We will be sharing a viewing link and order of service here soon.
