Bubble Churches Popping Up All Over Devon!

Posted: 29th May, 2026

Following our Bubble Church training day in March we have seen Bubble Church growing across the Diocese, with many more planned for launch in September.

Bubble Church is a Sunday church service especially for babies, toddlers, and young families. It’s a puppet-packed, Jesus-centred, coffee-and-food-fuelled, 30 minute kids and families adventure.

Following in the footsteps of Eggbuckland, Thorverton and Alphington, the Lynn Valley and All Saints Sidmouth have also recently launched Bubble Church in their settings. These will be followed by St Pauls Church in Sticklepath and St John the Baptist in Bishops Tawton over the next few weeks!

Bubble Church is a great example of mixed ecology and putting children, families and young people at the heart- which are two of our missional priorities as part of the Pray, Grow, Serve 2035 campaign.

Sharon Blyth, Children and Families Mission Enabler, visited the Lynn Valley Bubble Church last weekend and commented, “I felt to incredibly welcome and saw the team welcome all who walked through the door with Bubbles, Pastries and drinks, as well as the opportunity to pray.

“The session was super fun and there was a really helpful structure and pattern to it that was supportive for all.

“My favourite moment was the God spot when the children very happily shared what they were thankful for.”

The national Bubble Church team is keen to speak to other churches who may want to find out more, and offer training twice a year in London. It is a way of running church in a way that meets family’s needs but is a true authentic expression of an intergenerational church!
