Announcements April 2019
Appointments
Revd Nick Debney has been appointed as Interim Priest-in-Charge of Bovey Tracey St John with Heathfield in the Deanery of Moreton for a term of two years.
Revd Matthew Tregenza has been appointed as Rector of Crediton, Shobrooke and Sandford with Upton Hellions and took up his role on 4th March 2019.
Revd Derek Arnold has been appointed as Rural Dean of Hartland and will be commissioned at a service on 22nd May 2019 at 7.30pm in Holy Trinity, Westward Ho!
Revd Richard Freeman has been appointed as Rural Dean of Holsworthy and will be commissioned at a service in St John the Baptist, Bradworthy at 7pm on Tuesday 4th June 2019.
Revd Preb Nick Shutt has been appointed as the new Archdeacon of Plymouth and will be collated at a special service in the Minster church of St Andrew, Plymouth on Tuesday 18th June at 6.30pm.
Revd Canon Andrew Beane has been appointed as the new Archdeacon of Exeter and will be collated at a special service in the parish church in Ottery St Mary on Wednesday 25th September at 6.30pm
Leaving the Diocese
The Venerable Christopher Futcher, Archdeacon of Exeter, has been appointed as the next Archdeacon in Cyprus and Chaplain of St Helena’s, Larnaca and leaves the diocese at the end of July.
Revd Anne Futcher will be licensed as an Assistant Priest in St Helena’s and will serve as Cyprus Archdeaconry social concern coordinator and leaves the diocese at the end of July.
Retiring
Revd Preb Simon Franklin retired as Rector of Moretonhampstead Manton North Bovey and Lustleigh on 31st March 2019.
Revd Ian Blyde retires as Team Rector of the Brixham Team Ministry with effect from 31st May 2019.
Revd Preb Kathy Roberts retires as Rector of Black Torrington, Bradford with Cookbury, Thornbury and Highampton and Dean of Women in Minsitry on the 30th April 2019.
Revd Jane Lucas retires as Rector of Ashwater, Halwill, Beaworthy, Clawton and Tetcott with Luffincott on the 31st May 2019.
Deaths
Revd Eric Samuel Clarke from Sidmouth died on 6th December 2018.
Revd Michael Coombe from Exmouth died on 30th December 2018.
Revd David Beling from Paignton died on 21st March 2019.
Revd Basil Marshall from Broadclyst died on 26th March 2019.
Venerable Clive Cohen from Teignmouth died on 8th April 2019.
Revd Adrian Edward Barrell from Dousland, died on 19th March 2019.
