Ryan Runs 365 Days of the Year for The Children’s Society
A father of three, from Crediton, is running at least a mile every day of 2022 in aid of the Children’s Society.
Ryan Doyle, who goes to St Swithun’s Church in Sandford and Holy Cross in Crediton, said he had wanted a new challenge after running the London Marathon last year.
He said “As a father of three with a strong faith, the Children’s Society and its work to battle child poverty (something I care deeply about) was an obvious focus for any fundraising I can achieve”.
The minimum that Ryan will run each day is 1.6km (1 mile) but there will be a number of larger runs mixed in, including half marathons.
Although Ryan hasn’t set himself a fundraising target, he’d like to raise around £1865, which is £5 for every day of the year.
£5 would also pay for a hot meal, shower and living essentials for a young person who has run away from home.
Jess Meale, Community Relationships Manager for The Children’s Society in the South-West, said “We’re so grateful to Ryan for supporting our charity.
“It’s a mammoth task he’s taken on and everyone at The Children’s Society is cheering him on!”
