Bubble Churches Popping Up All Over Devon!
Following our Bubble Church training day in March we have seen Bubble Church growing across the Diocese, with many more planned for launch in September. Bubble Church is a Sunday church service especially for babies, toddlers, and young families. It’s a puppet-packed, Jesus-centred, coffee-and-food-fuelled, 30 minute kids and families adventure. Generations Gather in Prayer and Worship for Exeter Cathedral Thy Kingdom Come Service
GCSE Students from St Cuthbert Mayne School in Torquay shared their insights on connecting with younger generations about faith at this year’s Thy Kingdom Come celebration service at Exeter Cathedral on Sunday 17 May. The theme for the ecumenical service was From Generation to Generation, based on Mary’s song, known as the Magnificat (Luke 1:46-55). Remembering Fishermen Lost at Sea in Brixham Quayside Service
Sunday 10 May was the National Day of Remembrance for Fishermen and Helen Lovell-Smith, from the Fishermen’s Mission and Rev’d Philippa Bellows, Team Rector of Brixham Mission Community, led a service on Brixham quayside to commemorate those lost from the local fishing community. Bishop of Exeter’s Chaplain to be Next Archdeacon of Wells
The Rev’d Jo Stobart, currently Chaplain to the Bishop of Exeter, is to be the next Archdeacon of Wells in the Diocese of Bath and Wells. For Jo, it will be a return to the diocese where she was ordained at Wells Cathedral in 2015 and served as a curate and vicar in rural parishes in Somerset before becoming Bishop’s Chaplain in spring 2025.
