Archdeacon of Exeter appointed next Archdeacon in Cyprus and Chaplain of St Helena’s Larnaca
It was announced today that the Bishop of Cyprus and the Gulf has appointed Christopher Futcher as the next Archdeacon in Cyprus and Chaplain of St Helena’s Larnaca. In his seven years as Archdeacon of Exeter and Warden of Readers, Christopher has made a valuable contribution to the life of the diocese.
Our diocese is in a tri-partite relationship with the Diocese of Thika in Kenya and the Diocese of Cyprus and the Gulf, links which Christopher has had responsibility for nourishing. As a result he has got to know our companion dioceses well and they have come to value his experience and gifts which are well matched to the task ahead.
Anne Futcher, Christopher’s wife, will be licensed as an Assistant Priest in St Helena’s and will serve as Cyprus Archdeaconry social concern coordinator.
They will be moving to Cyprus over the summer holidays and Christopher’s farewell service will be in the Cathedral on Wednesday 3 July at 17:30 . We wish them both well and uphold them in our prayers as they prepare to embrace a new and exciting chapter in their lives and ministries.
