Calling all St Andrew’s Churches to Share New Song in Aid of Fishermen’s Mission
A Christian songwriting duo is calling on St Andrew’s Churches across the world to like and share their new song, which is being released in aid of the Fishermen’s Mission.
St Andrew is the patron saint of fishermen and ‘Lost and Found’, a song by Nick Axford and Mack Robinson, is being released on 30 November, which is St Andrew’s Day.
The Devon-based songwriters hope to link up with as many St Andrew’s Churches as possible on their saint’s day, to either play the video in church, or to share the video link on their social media.
Mackenzie Robinson, who wrote the lyrics, said “We are parishioners of St Andrew’s Church in Ashburton, and we are hoping that St Andrew’s Churches everywhere will get in touch at www.axfordrobinsonmusic.org to join in – just fill in our contact form and we’ll add you to the list of churches taking part and send you the song video, lyrics and sheet music ahead of its official release date. We’re hoping this challenge might appeal to St Andrew’s churches across the world!”
Explaining the connection to the Fishermen’s Mission, Mackenzie said “Fishing is the most dangerous peacetime job, and the Mission is always available to step in when disaster strikes. We hope this song will raise awareness, and much needed funds, for the Mission this Christmas.”
The song was recorded at Between Sounds studio in Buckfastleigh, and the video features footage of Brixham fishing boat ‘Julie of Ladram’, and a dramatic air sea rescue.
“The real-life footage was kindly given to me by members of Brixham’s fishing community and gives a glimpse of life on board a fishing boat, the realities of life at sea and the importance of strong community and family connections back on shore.”
The song uses nautical imagery to chart the ups and downs of life, but affirms that God remains the source of hope, leading us ‘safely through to harbours’ side’.
‘Lost and Found’ will be available on major streaming platforms from Sunday 30 November.
