The Diocese of Exeter is seeking an experienced, self-motivated Senior Operations Officer who possesses the ability to use their own initiative, with an aptitude for excellent planning and administration, combined with practical problem-solving abilities, communication skills and a sense of humour, to manage the day-to-day operations of our diocesan offices.
The Operations team is at the core of diocesan life, and this role requires someone who will maintain and strengthen positive relationships both within the team and with a wide variety of stakeholders both locally and nationally. Through proactive management of their own and others’ workloads, the postholder will play a key role in ensuring that policies and practices are up to date in relation to health and safety and data protection compliance, thus contributing to a positive and efficient working environment for all.
This is a newly created position, grant funded by the Archbishops’ Council, which will last for two years, and will provide a vital foundation in enabling the wider diocesan team to deliver support to parishes through our vision to ‘Grow in prayer, make new disciples and Serve the People of Devon with joy’. Reporting to the Operations Manager, this role will be based at the Old Deanery, overlooked by the cathedral in the heart of the historic centre of Exeter, where we can offer a varied and interesting workload alongside supportive colleagues in an environment which encourages teamwork, energy, and creativity.
