Bishop of Exeter Prepares to Hand Back Crozier at Farewell Service
Hundreds of people are expected to attend a farewell service for the Bishop of Exeter at Exeter Cathedral on Sunday 17 September at 3pm. Representatives from organisations across Devon have also been invited. The Rt. Rev’d Robert Atwell is retiring after nearly a decade as Devon’s most senior bishop, after being installed at Exeter Cathedral in July 2014. Six People Elected to Help Select Next Bishop of Exeter
Six people from the Diocese of Exeter have been elected to sit on the national commission responsible for selecting the next Bishop of Exeter. Devon Christian Youth Camps ‘a Place For All Young People’
Sharon Blyth, our Children’s and Families Mission Enabler, recently visited Devon Christian Youth Camps (DCYC) summer Junior Mixed Camp at DCYC’s campsite at Blackpool Sands in south Devon. Next year DCYC will be celebrating 50 years of running Christian youth camps in Devon. Each year DCYC runs five camps over the school summer holidays. Alpacas Spark Joy at Ashburton Church Hall Memory Cafe
A rural Devon church recently had some unusual visitors in the form of a trio of Alpacas. Xander, Juniper and Thunderball were the guests of honour at the monthly memory cafe at St Andrew’s Church Hall in Ashburton. A pen was put up for the animals in the hall garden so people attending the cafe could meet them and interact with them. The Alpacas come from Lakemoor Alpacas on Dartmoor.
