Devon Church Lines Up Bras and Boxers for Cancer Charities Fundraiser
A church in Devon has been festooned with decorated underwear to raise money for cancer charities and raise awareness of certain types of cancer. Underwear including pants, boxer shorts, bras and even a basque, was strung along washing lines inside St Mary the Virgin church in Marystowe, near Okehampton. New Leader at Youth Focused Unlimited Church
The Rev’d Matt Clayton was recently licensed by The Bishop of Crediton as the new leader of Unlimited Church in Exeter. St Mary Arches Church is the home of Unlimited, which is a multi-generational church with a key focus on the rising generation. Bickington Lunch Club Brings Community Together with Hot Food and Puddings
A team of volunteers in the Devon village of Bickington are running a monthly ‘Soup and Pud Lunch Club’ at the village hall as a way of bringing the community together and raising money for the church and local charities. A new mobile food project has been launched in Torbay to help people affected by the cost-of-living crisis. The YUM Project will run from a converted minibus, with a view to reaching people who might find it hard to access current food support schemes in a fixed location. More than 600 people gathered in Exeter Cathedral to mark Holocaust Memorial Day 2023 and hear TV presenter Robert Rinder speak about the importance of bearing witness to the stories of both survivors and victims.
