Diocesan Policies
Key policy documents
The Diocese of Exeter wants to resource all its churches to flourish and grow, and share God’s love with their community. Our churches are worshipping, prayerful communities, whose members strive to live out Kingdom values in the world today.
Some churches are able to flourish with little support, others – because of their size and location – may need more. We believe all our churches can serve best when in shared mission and ministry with others. Team work is a deeply biblical principle as well as a practical one and this is what is at the heart of the formation of Mission Communities; churches joining together so they can ‘be church’ more effectively in Devon in the 21st century.
When he was appointed, Bishop Robert was charged with setting a direction of travel for the diocese throughout the next decade, building on the foundations created by his predecessors. A draft of this vision will be presented to diocesan synod in March and will be communicated across the diocese immediately after, including a series of ‘Bishops in Mission’ events during which the three bishops will visit every deanery.
