Governor Training and Support

School governors are able to access plenty of training and support.

In the first instance, Exeter Diocesan Board of Education has a dedicated Education Team who have long term relationships with governance boards. As a new governor, you’ll receive a copy of the Diocesan Governance Welcome Pack and the Education Team is always on hand to offer advice and guidance. The Diocese also offer a range of training courses to meet the needs of schools and individuals.

Governors can also access a range of courses from different providers throughout Devon, and schools and multi academy trusts often run their own training in the essentials such as safeguarding.

Volunteering as a governor can open the door to lots of opportunities for training and personal and professional development and we would urge you to make the most of the training and support available.
