To be a Christian is to be on a journey into the heart of God’s love. The Church uses the term ‘discipleship’ to talk about our journey as we learn and grow to become more like Christ.
Bishop Robert’s vision for the Diocese starts with ‘growing in prayer’. He says: “If St Paul says that ‘growth comes from God,’ my years as a Benedictine monk taught me that such growth is rooted in prayer.
“I would encourage you to renew your spiritual lives. Carve out time to be quiet, to be still and to pray, even if it’s only a couple of minutes in the midst of a hectic day. Read and study the Bible prayerfully every day. …There are all sorts of ways in which individually and collectively we can renew the life of God in us.”
