Having a Spiritual Director
What is a Spiritual Director?
A Spiritual Director is an individual who accompanies someone else on a journey to a deeper relationship with God. They provide a confidential listening ear, as well as prayer, encouragement and guidance in the life-long journey of spiritual maturity. They offer a safe space to explore questions and difficulties and offer companionship during a period of discernment or change.
Can anyone have a Spiritual Director?
Yes, this is open to both ordained and lay people, of any denomination. It is for anyone who wants to grow in faith and spiritual practice.
How do I ask for a Spiritual Director?
If you would like to explore this more, get in touch with the Spiritual Direction Referral Service. An initial conversation will take place to help find the best match. This will explore whether you would prefer someone who is male or female, ordained or lay, close to home or further afield, of a similar spiritual tradition and if there are particular areas you would like help with. It’s also a great opportunity to talk through any questions you may have.
How do I contact the Spiritual Direction Referral Team?
