This event is aimed at everyone involved in looking after church buildings – clergy, churchwardens, PCC members. A range of talks will provide information, guidance and real life examples on:

• Understanding and sharing what’s special about your church building.
• Being open and welcoming.
• Engaging with your community.
• Making the most of your building.
• Managing a project.
• How the Diocese can support you.

Speakers include:

• Douglas Young, creator of the Devon Churchland website
• Aileen Peirce, Head of Interpretation & Design at Historic Royal Palaces
• Devon Communities Together

Our venue

We are pleased to be holding this event at the church of St Mary the Virgin, Waverley Road, Newton Abbot, TQ12 2ND. Limited parking is available on site for blue badge holders (please reserve a space in advance using the booking form). There is a public car park within a 5 minute walk (just off Halcyon Road, TQ12 2QY). If choosing to park on street rather than in a car park, please do so with respect for neighbours and bearing in mind that some areas are resident permit holders only. The railway station is a 20 minute walk, or 15 minutes via bus (from Station Rd to Exeter Rd).
