Churchwarden training days

Training sessions are normally held for Churchwardens every year, but due to the current pandemic these training sessions are on hold.

What happens in the training sessions?

These will be led by the Archdeacons, with training provided by diocesan staff from different departments. The training is primarily aimed at those who are relatively new to their post, to provide a basic introduction to the role and responsibilities of the Churchwarden, but anyone is welcome to attend.

Topics covered include:
– The role of the Churchwarden
– Parishes and the Law
– Parish accounts
– Learning and Discipleship
– Giving
– Mission Community Development
– Changing Your Church
– Human Resources and Safeguarding Support
– Data Protection
– Growing the Rural Church

We will update this page as soon as dates become available. In the meantime, if you feel you have a training need, please contact your archdeacon.
