Parish Safeguarding Representative (PSR) Induction

In addition to completing the National Leadership Pathway training, all new Parish Safeguarding Representatives will also need to complete the Parish Safeguarding Representative Induction. Please make sure that you have informed the Safeguarding Team, using the Change of Parish Safeguarding Representative Form that you are the new PSR for your parish.

The induction is delivered in one 2-3 hour session (please allow up to 3 hours, although we aim to finish within 2 hours) which will be via Zoom. Participants will need access to a computer, tablet or smart phone with internet access and a camera and microphone in order to take part. The course includes pre-course reading which will need to be undertaken prior to the session and a post course task to complete after the session in order to gain certification and completion. Information will be emailed to you ahead of the course along with Zoom joining instructions. There will be a maximum of 14 participants on each Zoom session. Bookings are taken on a first come, first served basis.

Permission to Officiate (PtO) Safeguarding Training

This course is specifically for clergy with the Bishop’s Permission to Officiate. Courses are in person and are held in various locations within Exeter Archdeaconry.

In Person Domestic Abuse Training

The Diocesan Safeguarding Team hold an in person Domestic Abuse training course in each Archdeaconry throughout the year. This module can also be undertaken online via the National Safeguarding Training Portal and can be found under ‘Issued Based Pathways’. Domestic Abuse must be renewed every three years for those who require it in addition to the Core Pathways. For more information on required attendees, please refer to the Safeguarding Learning and Development Framework.

• Course dates with available places can be found in the drop-down list beneath each module in the Courses/Events section of the booking form below. Please note: once courses become fully booked they no longer appear on the booking form.
• Please note that you must enter your name, parish role and a contact telephone number and email address in order for your booking to be processed. Please ensure the information you enter here is correct.
• Please also answer the simple arithmetical question before submitting the form as this proves your booking is genuine.
• Booking confirmation will be sent by automated email. Please do check your junk and spam folders for emails if you do not receive them.
