Energy Footprint Tool

The easy-to-use Energy Footprint Tool (EFT) will tell your church what your ‘carbon footprint’ is annually, based on the energy you use to heat and light your buildings.

You can find the Energy Footprint Tool on the Online Parish Returns System.

The system uses the information already submitted about your church to populate your answers. This means churches will only be asked for a small amount of additional information. You will need your previous year’s electricity and gas/oil bills to hand.

The Energy Footprint Tool is open from January to June every year to submit your figures for the previous calendar year.

By filling in your EFT you enable your church to make wise, targeted decisions to reduce your carbon footprint. The EFT can help highlight where energy is wasted and may help reduce your energy costs.

Completing the EFT shapes how national net zero funding is allocated and it is now an essential step for your parish to access funding.
