Building Management Portal
The Building Management Portal is the new national Church of England system for applying for permission for repairs or changes to church buildings and churchyards.
It launched on 6 October 2026.
Click here to access the Building Management Portal.
This online system supports the legal process known as Faculty Jurisdiction, which governs alterations, repairs and conservation of church buildings, their contents and churchyards. It replaces the previous Online Faculty System.
Key information:
- Access to the Building Management Portal is via the CofE Portal, using two factor authentication.
- All active cases have been transferred from the Online Faculty System to the Building Management Portal.
- All system users need to register for the new system – accounts have not been transferred across. You do not need to register for an account immediately unless you have an open case. Otherwise, simply register when you want to make an application.
- Support is available via the Church Buildings Office – contact your usual case officer or email [email protected].
