Spiritual leadership by children in church primary schools
19 January, 2 pm -3 pm

The Nexus research found that pupil leadership opportunities in school, formal or informal, give children confidence and support their and their peers’ spiritual development.
This seminar explores the importance of recognising children as active agents in their spiritual development and the impact of pupil peer leaders when they are given opportunities to lead and develop worship time, prayer, reflection spaces, and care for others in church primary schools. It raises questions about children’s role in faith development in the home and church.  Please contact Gill Harrison to register for a place.

Children in the Lead
20 January, 7.30 – 9pm

This workshop is on Zoom and is open to anyone who wants to think about how they can help children to grow in leadership and faith in school, church or at home.
Children and young people are not just the future of the church. They are already on a spiritual journey and are forming their ideas of faith and the church through their experiences. This means they are also our ‘now’, so how do we journey alongside them hearing their voices, offering them leadership and growing in faith together?
This workshop will be focussing on three ways we can support our children and young people to:
Lead in worship with others (services, collective worship, family devotions)
Develop a faith they own
Have a voice in decisions and direction

Training the Trainer Course on Breaking County Lines

Session 1- 11 February 10:00-12:00
Session 2- 18 February 10:00-12:00
Session 3- 25 February 10:00-12:00

County lines is becoming one of the most prevalent forms of modern slavery in our country. Breaking County Lines is designed as a resource to enable churches and communities to understand and raise awareness of the scale of the problem and to spot the signs of its presence. It also looks at ways of building resilience in our communities with an emphasis on the protection of children, young people and vulnerable adults.  The Breaking County Lines Train the Trainer Course will equip participants with the knowledge and materials needed to run their own Breaking County Lines training in their own communities. Participants will be encouraged to use the materials in their own context and to initiate the formation of an action group to undertake practical initiatives to help raise awareness of and build resilience against county lines. The course and all training materials will be provided free of charge and participants will come away with all resources needed to run their own course including PowerPoints and course handbooks. The training will be faith based and is particularly suited to youth workers and those working with children and young people. If you would like to find out more about the course you can do so here.  If you would like to sign up, please do so using the Eventbrite link here.

What are the key characteristics of our contemporary age? And how might that impact our evangelism to youth, children and families?  Come and hear about the research that has been done in the last ten years and how some are reacting to what that research is telling us. As always, a key aspect of the forum will be the discussion that arises from the presentations; such discussions lie at the heart of us generating ideas and resources for today’s church.  This online forum is free to attend, but registration is required. Spring Harvest Easter 2022
The Spring Harvest 22 events theme is Restore, Renew, Rebuild. Drawing from the life of Nehemiah, this theme will be explored in relation to our churches, our communities and our individual lives. These three powerful words will each, in turn, become part of the daily focus for the event ‘as we look to God, look within our heart and look out into our world.’  Phil Loose, CEO of the Essential Christian charity says, “In the last two years we’ve gone from Big Top to laptop, from Skyline to online and now it’s time to come together in person again.  Spring Harvest is back at Butlin’s for 2022 and we can’t wait to welcome you on site. Book early to make sure you don’t miss out on an incredible Spring Harvest reunion!”  Guests can book by phone or online. Booking online is the fastest and easiest way. To do this, visit Spring Harvest’s new online event booking page.
