Deanery reviews of mission and ministry
Reviews of mission and ministry in deaneries are occasionally undertaken in order to see how best mission and ministry in specific areas of the diocese can be organised. Such a review looks at a number of issues, including whether the deanery can be better structured to release the mission energies of the people of God. It asks questions such as who are the natural partners in mission and ministry in the area? What should the priorities be? How should the mission community be staffed? How can the real costs of ministry be sustained in an equitable way? What part do our church schools play in the mission and ministry of the area? Are the ecumenical opportunities to be explored?
Such reviews are normally requested by the diocesan or suffragan bishop.
